Director's Statement:

TIME - the only asset that is equally distributed to any newborn, is the most precious and yet so easy to waste. For us, the real importance in making 'It's About Time' was not mere exploration of this intriguing aspect of human life, but moreover, to motivate the viewers to reassess whatever time they have left in this unpredictable life, starting from the very moment this film begins...

Given the assignment to check out the concept and perception of time in a society that is indeed obsessed with an everlasting threat, we chose to focus on individuals and their subjective experiences. After all, we are all human beings with fears, hopes, plans, and not enough time to fulfil them. Israelis are no different, except that their time-line is much more uncertain. As such, this unique sense of urgency which characterizes Israeli Time, magnifies issues that people everywhere are concerned with.

Looking back, we feel fortunate having had the chance to interview people in the brief, rare break from the ongoing hard-core violence in Israel. It was during an optimistic period of time in the millennium year, where those interviewed could finally transcend the daily horror and connect to their human core, contemplating about time from a more detached but sensitive point of view.

Now, as the clock started ticking double-speed for humanity outside the middle east as well, the growing relevance of this film makes us feel this is the least we could do to help.
